Research

Institute for Math & AI，Wuhan was established in June 2023 as a substantive scientific research institution under Wuhan University, currently located in the Lei Jun Science and Technology Building on campus. The institute focuses on core disciplines such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, cyberspace security, and artificial intelligence. It is dedicated to:

• Building a talent hub in central China;

• Establishing an internationally influential academic research center;

• Creating a scientific innovation center with foundational original research capabilities and a demonstration base for applied research and implementation.

Leveraging Wuhan University’s accumulated academic strengths, the institute will drive institutional innovation, optimize resource coordination, and strengthen team development, discipline advancement, and talent cultivation. It will deepen international exchanges and internal collaboration, closely partnering with the School of Mathematics and Statistics, School of Computer Science, National Cybersecurity School, and School of Artificial Intelligence to systematically advance the high-quality development of mathematics and intelligent-related disciplines.
