On December 24 at 5:00 PM, the College of Artificial Intelligence held its inaugural joint Party-government meeting in Conference Room 930 of the Lei Jun Science and Technology Building, with President Zhang Pingwen presiding over the proceedings.
The meeting addressed several key agenda items, including finalizing the division of responsibilities among the college’s leadership team, approving the appointment of department heads for the two departments and one center, determining office staff assignments, and discussing recent work priorities. Executive Vice Dean Xia Guisong presented a work progress report, followed by brief statements from other team members regarding their respective areas of responsibility.
In his concluding remarks, President Zhang emphasized five key development directions: Educational Foundation—upholding moral education as the core mission, aligning with national strategies and regional needs, and enhancing program quality; Admissions Preparation—ensuring comprehensive readiness for the 2025 student recruitment cycle; Talent Development—leveraging institutional platforms to attract and cultivate high-level talent; Governance Structure—accelerating the establishment of academic governance bodies; and Research Collaboration—strengthening partnerships to promote organized scientific research. He urged the leadership team to "adopt a broader perspective, enhance collaboration, and work together with genuine unity."
The leadership team unanimously expressed their commitment to implement the president’s guidance through innovative thinking and collaborative effort.
